Spain: Impressions of Mercado de la Boqueria

This Market, only a block from our hotel on La Rambla in Barcelona, was, for me, one of the best parts of the city. There has been a market in this location since the 13th century, though the present incarnation dates from the mid-19th century and its metal roof from 1914.

There was so much I could have bought, but, alas, we were leaving soon. So I put my iPhone to use.

Artfully piled gelatos, below

Many stands sold these fruit cups - all so colourful and irresistible

Spices

Mushrooms

Salted Fish

Shellfish

This fish vendor was getting fresh ice

 Oops, fish getting out?

Dried fruit and nuts

Below: looks like fresh fruit/veg but is actually marzipan.
